If there were a ten point scale, I'd have rated this DVD a 10/10!I work out pretty regularly, mostly running, calisthenics, and rowing. I don't lift weights, but I'm physically fit. I'm a hatha yoga neophyte, never been to a yoga studio (though I plan on visiting one in the near future), and practise from home. Hence, I value the DVD format, and have vastly improved my knowledge of yoga poses as a result.More to the point, this DVD will simply kick the butt of most beginner-intermediate yogis. It has more than a few very difficult poses. Bryan is now my favorite yoga instructor. I like his style and he offers a pretty challenging series of practices.Simply put, it's a great practice. It will challenge you in ways that many vinyasa-style teachers don't. The poses are not arcane or complex; they're simply difficult to sustain for the duration of time that Bryan wants you to sustain them for. You may find it difficult, as I did, to hold some of the leg poses because you might be a little bit fatigued from the preceding series of poses. The first time I used this DVD, my legs literally shook after I had completed the practice, because of fatigue. Now, I don't have that problem. That's progress, and that's the value of this DVD. You can see that you're getting better, and that encourages you to keep going.I don't agree with some who claim that Bryan's voice is a distraction. I quite appreciated his continuous reassurance, as this is truly a difficult practice. I expect to do it for a couple of months before I attempt some of his CDs which I imagine are even harder.If you are new to yoga, I'd recommend you first practice with Kest's "Power Yoga Series" DVD, before attempting the Intensive Body Sculpting one.
