CP Cavafy is a well known poet of Greek origins who spent much of his adult life in Alexandria in Egypt. He is well known for his homo erotic poetry but I do think this work can appeal very successfully to the "straight" person as the imagination can create all sorts of variations to the nature of the relationships involved. The poems are short generally and do inspire reflection. I am very happy to recommend to any reader who enjoys poetry as an art form.
