This book is a gem and worthwhile studying for this pioneer's theories in "Bioenergetics Therapy.I met and took workshops with him in the late 1970's and introduced his methods into my work as a head of a division of psychosomatic medicine at a major medical university.To fully understand the origins of his theory it helps to have read and been trained in Freudian Therapy as well as to adopt the he the later work of Sandor Ferenci "Activity therapy as a add on to Freud's theories.With this background Lowen blossomed into the field and co-founder of "Bioenergetic Therapy"and combined the most useful of analytic therapy with the use of touch and body work.There are others who have developed similar schemata. To get an easy read i suggest Googling and reading the essays of The Bioenergetic Institute"in Perth Australia.However this book is a treasure of information and i highly recommend it for those interested seriously interested in Bioenergetics Therapy.
