Dynamic album. I came into it not knowing what to expect. Heard Sike live before the announcement of a new album, I like trashy party bangers but that's not why I go to Astronautalis. But fans of Atronautalis' bangers will be satisfied, as well as fans of his early albums with their low and slow feel. Some real jauntiness as well as soul that I wasn't expecting but fits great with his vocals. Great combination of his personal outlaw narrative as well as the totally fluid refferential lyrics that anyone who has seen him live knows he is the master of. Astronautalis satisfies the party atmosphere and just wanting to have fun, which his live shows revolve around, as well as giving a little something to the people who go towards the Minnesota based indie rap scene for the philosophical word play. I love what's happening with the scene now, and I find it comparable to Doomtree's last release All Hands. Astronautalis takes his composition seriously (and often seriously unserious for the awesome fun trashy sound reminiscent of his friend Bleubird's recent release Lauderdale) the beats are dope and remarkably un-stale, his style is diverse but still fluid and this album will definitely demand re-visits or it just might live on your turntable or CD player for months
