I was surprised by the scent of this but after doing some research Rosehip isn't supposed to smell rosey. It doesn't smell bad, just not what I was expecting but my expectations were wrong. It's thick in my opinion but I also don't think that is a bad thing. I'd rather have thick oil than watery oil. It absorbs in nicely. I've been using oil on both my hair and skin for awhile now and wish I had known about them all my life.Just a bit in the hair gives you long lasting shine and luster. And it definitely helps your skin stay moisturized.
