The book I just recently finished is titled "Body Mind Balancing" written by OSHO. I've been seeking ways to establish my inter-peace for quite some time so, I started studying and practicing Zen, and I read this book. The book is written to give guidance on how one should get to know their body and how to be good to the body. Osho develops a relationship with the reader in chapter one as he recalls the way "Western medical science views man as a separate unit (body and soul) and by doing this have committed a grave error" (Osho 2003). He addresses this to show a conflict in how we are created and how we are taught we are created particularly by Western scientist. Osho explains "we are not a separate unit instead our body and soul are indivisible as living human beings, and we must acknowledge this when dealing with the whole person concept" (OSHO 2003). When explaining how unique, complex and magnificent a creation the he body is he delivers a message of responsibility for us to take care of our body and mind in the best ways possible. Start by getting to know our body by purging ourselves of all the intoxicants we often collect along the paths we choose. He is able to walk you through the different stages of how to recognize what you need to change and suggest ways in making those changes. The chapters of the book are well written and structured were transition from one subject to another is easy to follow. Osho topics are organized and have stimulating information that keeps the reader interested. He also displays a subtle way in getting you to see his point. I recommend this book to anyone who is seeking ideas and information on improving their way of living, it will not only motivate you to change your physical actions but also the way you think and view things. "Body Mind Balancing" teach us to enrich our lives not only for nurturing our mind and body but for nourishment of the soul. Being able to better ourselves satisfies the innate desire we all have....self-improvement. Remember, Zen is not a religion but a philosophy that encourages us to be good natured in order to make a better humanity and the only way to do this are to have "Mind Body balancing". Mind Body balancing confronts contradictions in our thoughts about our traditions, religions, politics, social status, race, nationality, origin, sexuality, and even who and what we are taught to be.
