Created by legendary automotive designer (and visionary) Ray Dietrich, the 1963 Firebirds literally reversed conventional concepts for guitar bodies and headstocks. You can bet heads turned when any guitar player took to the stage with one of these unusual instruments strapped on. Players like Eric Clapton, Johnny Winter and Phil Manzanera (Roxy Music) found their combination of looks and sound to be perfect for their needs (though, of course, Clapton played many Gibsons through the years). I gave this to my son for a Christmas gift. He owns a Firebird, and it is one of his favorite guitars (although he says she is a bit of a diva LOL). He gushed over the detail on this mini replica and my son is not a gusher. He loved it! The attention to detail is what makes this so amazing. Even the box looks like a Gibson case, and the stand was a nice added touch. My son laughed because he said it works just like the stand for his real guitar (the guitar sits kind of crooked in the stand because of the guitar shape). Very life like and beautiful!
